Upcoming Events

Umm, yeah, not so much...

After about fifteen years of hosting the darkest dance night in Savannah, Club One has decided to move on to other horizons. It's truly unfortunate, but all good things must come to an end. With that, there's nothing left to do but wish them the best of luck and move forward.

This doesn't mean the "scene" is dead... there's still plenty of good stuff going on in Savannah, like Black Oaks and Chris Cook's parties, and I'm going to be putting on events (or even finding a regular venue) as often as I can. As for this page, I'll soon be converting it into a personal DJ page, as well as listing other local and regional events.

THANK YOU to EVERYBODY who has been coming out all these years and supporting dark alternative music, people, and culture. You're the greatest.

Stay tuned here and at my MySpace page for upcoming parties. Take care, and keep the faith.

Here's my MySpace blog of upcoming events mirrored for you non-MS'ers...

Hey, all... I'm finally crawling out from under my rock. It's been a busy year so far, but unfortunately not the kind of busy that I can share with others. There's good stuff on the horizon, however...

First, I should finally address the subject of Club One. No, we're (that is, I'm) not doing anything there anymore. After 15 years of hosting a goth/industrial night, Club One has decided to move on to other things, and so shall I. It's been a fun ride, but it's time for a new vehicle, so to speak. The website has been updated with this info (finally), and will be sticking around to find a new identity, most likely as a personal DJ page and listing of local and regional events. THANK YOU to everybody who has enjoyed and supported local events; the party's not over yet.

Coming soon to Savannah, however... Saturday, May 31st is the date of Black Oaks Savannah's Zombie Apocalypse party! It's an all-day event, with the afternoon featuring workshops, lectures, vendors, and freak favorite Voltaire performing! I'll be spinning, too... After the afternoon's activities, be a part of the Zombie Crawl, groaning and bleeding your way through Savannah towards B&B Billiards, where we'll be spinning more music and featuring performances by Synchro Nine Factor, Nightmare Sonata, and Earth Empire. Check out the Black Oaks website for more information. (Flier images for this and other events at the end of post.)

One week after that, I'm having a dance party at B&B Billiards... as yet untitled, but make no mistake the theme will be strong beats and nothing but. We're doing away with performances, contests, and all that... because it gets in the way of the dancefloor. Saturday, June 7th at B&B will be a night of industrial, gothic, electro, and all that other happy fun stuff, with no distractions and no excuses. You've been wondering when you can just get your groove on? Well, here ya go. :) I've got all kinds of fresh new music to unleash. Details to be announced soon. Yes, this is the night after Chris Cook's First Friday party.

Hmm... let's see... other events I get to be a part of... well, I just finished building the set for Shakespeare in the Park, so if you're out at Forsyth Park on May 17th, you can see my shoddy carpentry. If something collapses, though, it's not my fault. ;) The performance this year is "Shakespeare On Love", which is a montage of love-related scenes and soliloquies. I'm sure it'll be a great performance; I'm sorry I'm going to miss it, as I'm working on another production for the same day... Currently I'm deep in mixing music for this year's SCAD Fashion Show, so if you're one of the lucky ones to attend that event, you can blame me for the sound. (Again.) It also looks like I might be DJ'ing the afterparty, accompanied by VJ Alessandro Imperato. Apparently they'll let me play stuff that's approaching my preferred genres, too...

After that I'm heading up to Philadelphia to be a part of Dracula's Ball on May 24th, which should be AWESOME. Produced by Patrick Rodgers of Dancing Ferret Discs, this is (from what I hear) a badass event, featuring three DJs and performances by Tearwave and Lost Signal, all at Philly's Shampoo night club. Rawk.

July... I get to go international. Fabulous DJ and swell guy DJ Rex (who has partied it up in Savannah a few times) asked me to be a part of his American Invasion night at Sedition in Brixton! I haven't been out of the country since high school, so I'm really looking foward to this. :)

So, um, that's about it, for the moment. Oh, Connect is doing its Best of Savannah polling again, so check it out and vote for your favorites! It's all online for your convenience. (No cheating, now!) Voting ends on May 2nd, so move it!

Thanks for reading. More details will be announced soon, and I hope to see you out having fun! Pass along these events to friends and enemies!
